QuComm, an innovative young startup offering 5G network management, intelligent security and Industry 4.0 solutions, today announced it has become a member of the Open Networking Foundation (ONF), a non-profit operator-led consortium driving transformation of access and edge network infrastructure and business models leveraging network disaggregation, open source software and software defined standards. As a member of the ONF, QuComm is planning to participate in multiple 5G mobile open source projects with a focus on Software Defined Radio Access Network (SD-RAN™). The SD-RAN community is comprised of leading operators and technology companies who are focused on accelerating the development and availability of production-grade open source components for the open RAN space in compliance with the O-RAN architecture and specifications.
QuComm solutions provide automated and intelligent network management, monitoring and security tools for building 5G edge and cloud infrastructures to help facilitate widespread adoption.
“We are pleased to welcome QuComm into the SD-RAN ecosystem,” stated Timon Sloane, Vice President Marketing and Ecosystem at ONF. “
One of the goals of disaggregating and opening 5G networks is to make it possible for small young companies to apply disruptive thinking and technologies. No longer do vendors have to provide complete end-to-end solutions themselves, and we are pleased to see a company like QuComm embracing this opportunity.”
“ONF is recognized as an industry leader in driving and creating innovative open source software solutions that transform access and edge networks leveraging disaggregation, open source software, SDN, NFV and cloud technologies . We are thrilled to join ONF and actively support the ecosystem,” noted Akis Kourtis, Chief Executive of Operations for QuComm. “
QuComm embraces ONF’s progressive vision and are happy to start working with the ONF community to bring innovative open source telco solutions with industry driven incentives.”
